When my dog was still a puppy, she has gotten her share of hiccups and I was not alarmed. Usually, after being hyperactive and intense physical activity, she gets these hiccups. My vet said that it was not life-threatening and will go away as the dog matures. Today, my dog Viviene doesn't get hiccupy anymore. I've been reading a lot about this since my sister's 2 year old Rottweiler is now having periodic hiccups. This is the site that I'v shared with her and hope it helps everyone: http://dogsaholic.com/care/do-dogs-get-hiccups.html
