Pet stores will bluntly lie to you, and say their puppies come from private, but reputable breeders.. but what reputable breeder will ship their puppies off to a pet store, to be sold to complete strangers? Good, reputable breeders ALWAYS want to meet the person (or persons) who want to adopt one of their puppies, to be sure their puppy is going to a good home. But the puppies in pet stores come from Puppy Mills. They try to cover that fact up by saying their dogs are ‘AKC registered’, but get what folks.. The AKC is a money hungry business. That’s it, that’s all.

“The AKC is a business, collecting money for registration of dogs. AKC papers mean nothing about the breed, health, or pedigree of the dog. No one from the AKC ever sees the dog, it’s all forms turned in by mail, much on the “honor system.” So, what good are these papers? None. It simply means someone filled out a form and paid a fee to register the dog.”
