The scam: Pet scammers post ads on Craigslist, pet sale sites, and phony websites with stolen pictures and animal descriptions. They attempt to get you to pay an adoption fee or some other payment amount to ship the pets to your location. The pets never come and it is all a scam. NEVER wire money for an animal online. Anyone who asks you to pay through Moneygram or Western Union is ALWAYS a scammer, so never buy or adopt a pet without seeing it and where it was raised. Please consider adopting a pet from a shelter.
