Russian President Vladimir Putin was presented with a new puppy by the President of Turkmenistan in Sochi, Wednesday, during a meeting between the two leaders at a Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) summit.

The puppy named ‘Vernyi’, Russian for faithful, is a Central Asian Shepherd and was given to the Russian President by Berdimuhamedow as a belated 65th birthday present.
