INCIDENT DETAILS:

Two Sweetwater High School students were caught and detained after the female suspect stole a 2-month-old Pit Bull puppy from its owner.
The owner (female) was selling the puppy online for 0.00 and was contacted by the female suspect.
The owner lives in Oceanside, and the suspect attempted to get the owner to come to Lincoln Acres last night to buy the puppy.
The owner said “No”.
The suspect and owner agreed to meet this morning in front of the Halloween Tent in the Plaza Bonita parking lot.
The owner drove up and the suspect met her. the male suspect stayed across the street toward the trailhead along the Sweetwater River Channel.
The female suspect grabbed the puppy away from the owner and started running away.
Both male and female suspects then ran westbound down the walking trail.
NCPD was notified and headed down both directions of the trail and caught up with the two suspects near the 2nd Ave Bridge Crossing.
The two suspects were detained and the puppy reunited with its owner.
