Parent’s Christmas Puppy Surprise 2017

videos

A little backstory; My parents have always had a dog in the house since I was 4 years old. They fostered and found homes for over 100 dogs with a local rescue over the course of 8 years. They made a promise to one another that once their own (5) dogs passed away, they would not adopt anymore. Unfortunately, on September 12, 2017, my parents’ final dog, Sable passed away and my mom especially, was having a hard time with it. In early November, my parents began volunteering at the local animal shelter and fell in love with some dogs there and were disappointed when they kept running into issues that prevented them from fostering one.

After months of planning, I adopted a 1 month old Border Collie.
Before presenting my mom with the puppy, I gave her a series of gifts.

1. Pajama set with dog print
2. A ShelterPup replica of her late dog, Sable
And then I told her we had a collar for the ShelterPup, but it didn’t fit, so we asked if it would fit this one (the real dog).

My boyfriend, Mike was hiding the dog in the room with the dog, everyone was making assumptions as to where he was.
